How did you get that picture of me in Africa?

Well, that suit you're wearing really clashes with native wear, so it's all over the internet now.

I was just reading an article about experts debating the use of "overweight" and "obese" label on children. Physicians now will avoid the word even with adults. "Obese sounds mean."

Meaner still are the health problems and early death it brings.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if obesity wasn't planned. An unhealthy populace has little energy for political revolution.

Right on. I have to smile, my kids when describing someone older they've met or talked with etc. will say "like you mom, old school."

Having been in menopause w/o any treatment the worst thing I find is the occasional hot flush which makes me just undress. Hehehe. No thank you to horse pee.

Pharma and physicians certainly come up with a "disorder" or disease for every irresponsible behavior. They're one of my biggest rants.

Your son has the bizarre droll type of humor that fits in well at our house.

I like that thesaurus. The doctors I know will describe a 5' 2" and 300 pound patient as "stocky." I kid you not. I guess they're being "sensitive."

The one I detest most is the "postpartum depression" syndrome used by more and more women who murder/abuse their children. Somehow I escaped that ailment with mine.

As a young mother I used to tell my childless friends I would have a nervous breakdown when I could find the time. Sometimes if I have to keep 3 or 4 of my grandchildren for a night I tell their moms not to worry - I have a bathtub. I'm so bad.

Rut-roh. You need Aricept for that memory quirk. Heehee.

Just comparing the Western world's diseases, disorders, and syndromes to the third/developing world shows what "civilization" has done to health. Lol.

Can you imagine a campesino or Ethiopian suffering from "anorexia" or other celebrity fab eating disorders?

Kate, check out various websites regarding high-fructose corn syrup and how it has within the last 20 years been added to almost every processed food out there. Basically bottom line food sabotage, where the most heavily subsidized crop becomes the cheapest ingredient which in turn transforms the masses into masses of fat!

Rosetta,
I always check for that and it's rampant. I've blogged on ADHD and the relation to diet, etc. If interested just google "kateablog ADHD".

Thanks.
