Good Hair

There was a comment by one of the participants: "Never touch a black woman's hair." Why not? That sounds like such a silly comment. She might have said "never touch my hair." How can she speak for all of the other women? She can't, but I have noticed that many of them do try and speak for all others. Silly, silly, silly, but probably funny, funny, funny.

I'd be very wealthy if I had a dollar for every time I've heard a black girl/woman say "good hair." I think the obsession with hair is related to poor self-esteem. We don't have any weaves or wigs in our family.

I see the same mama telling her kid he's "actin' white" if he's bookish sitting in the salon spending big bucks on relaxers or getting weaves and braids attached to one inch tresses of chemically destroyed hair.

I want to see this one as Chris Rock can tell it like it is with humor.
