Google Jew

Google explanation:

An explanation of our search results.

If you recently used Google to search for the word "Jew," you may have seen results that were very disturbing. We assure you that the views expressed by the sites in your results are not in any way endorsed by Google. We'd like to explain why you're seeing these results when you conduct this search.

A site's ranking in Google's search results is automatically determined by computer algorithms using thousands of factors to calculate a page's relevance to a given query. Sometimes subtleties of language cause anomalies to appear that cannot be predicted. A search for "Jew" brings up one such unexpected result.

If you use Google to search for "Judaism," "Jewish" or "Jewish people," the results are informative and relevant. So why is a search for "Jew" different? One reason is that the word "Jew" is often used in an anti-Semitic context. Jewish organizations are more likely to use the word "Jewish" when talking about members of their faith. The word has become somewhat charged linguistically, as noted on websites devoted to Jewish topics such as these:

* http://shakti.trincoll.edu/~mendele/vol01/vol01.174
* http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/jonah081500.asp

Someone searching for information on Jewish people would be more likely to enter terms like "Judaism," "Jewish people," or "Jews" than the single word "Jew." In fact, prior to this incident, the word "Jew" only appeared about once in every 10 million search queries. Now it's likely that the great majority of searches on Google for "Jew" are by people who have heard about this issue and want to see the results for themselves.

Our search results are generated completely objectively and are independent of the beliefs and preferences of those who work at Google. Some people concerned about this issue have created online petitions to encourage us to remove particular links or otherwise adjust search results. Because of our objective and automated ranking system, Google cannot be influenced by these petitions. The only sites we omit are those we are legally compelled to remove or those maliciously attempting to manipulate our results.

We apologize for the upsetting nature of the experience you had using Google and appreciate your taking the time to inform us about it.

Sincerely,
The Google Team

p.s. You may be interested in some additional information the Anti-Defamation League has posted about this issue at http://www.adl.org/rumors/google_search_rumors.asp. In addition, we call your attention to both the Jewish Internet Association, an organization that addresses online anti-semitism, at http://www.jewishinternetassociation.org/, and Google's search results on this topic.

Oddly, google doesn't have the same concern about the words nigger, coon, spick, chink, sandnigger, greaser, etc.

Probably due to the fact that nobody is on the internet looking up heritage questions or information about a specific group using those terms unless they are looking for hate related sites. But, I get where you are coming from. Not a care in the world but a ton of bloggers and websites devoted to hating others and no disclaimer by google about it.

What's odd is the word jew has become such a derogatory word. Did you see on the Jew google search the "Jooglebomb"? The 4th link down. Left hand column, an effort to knock JewWatch out of the top spot, seems to be working.

“Oddly, google doesn't have the same concern about the words nigger, coon, spick, chink, sandnigger, greaser, etc.”

I wouldn’t really say that it’s Google that has the concerns over www.jewwatch.com. It’s the Jews. The internet is the one single source of media that they don’t have death-grip control over and if severely angers them. For them it is totally unacceptable that there is a voice out there that tells the truth of their schemes. So just how did those evil white separatists manage to make Jew Watch grab Google’s top spot? Google’s search engine discerns a site’s "relevance" by the number of pages with a forwarding link to it in addition to the prominence of those sites. In other words, jewwatch.com is just a popular site with a lot of hits. The Jewish efforts at pressuring and 'link bombing' Google (Google disapproves of link bombing, by the way) in an attempt to draw attention away from Jew Watch have largely been unsuccessful.
The internet is the last venue for 1st Amendment protected free speech (this blog is proof of this) and the Jew’s will continue to try and take away that right. And believe me I fully understand the difference between slander and truth. Spreading lies and untrue information should be frowned on. On the other hand, censoring factual information by labeling it anti-Semitic, which removes Jews from criticism of any kind (and is used constantly by the Jews as a “get out of jail free” card), sets a dangerous precedent. Just like the child molester that incessantly claims that he has never laid a hand on his children, the Jews will continue to cry and whine that they are innocent and that everyone is against them.

I read a few items on JewWatch site and personally found nothing that I haven't read before. Nor would consider "hate speech."

Those opposed to dissenting opinions usually have something to hide.
