Justification

While over at the PNAC Café and Propaganda Center reading a few publications and reports, I had a thought.

At this point would finding massive amounts of WMD in Iraq rescue Bush and the cabal ?

As of April 2005 a 108 page PNAC report claimed it still too early to say Saddam did not have WMD and WMD might yet be discovered.

Well, the PNAC is not going to admit to being wrong. I think they (we) would have planted some WMDs long since if they could have. Why didn't they? Just hide and then 'find' some stuff liberated from Russia, say, have Judith pose by it in her desert outfit, and Boom, fact via the NYT. As it was, we left a lot of non-nuclear/biological goodies there, unsecured, when we took over, which the 'insurgents' are using now. In fact, didn't we provide (sold to Saddam) some of the stuff we subsequently descried? Outside (non-American) inspection at this point would possibly notice and comment on landmines, depleted uranium, etc. so I doubt that will be tried either. But mostly, we're just too far down the road, er, list of reasons for war. I think we're on 'democracy' now but not sure. I expect we'll pull most of our troops out, if no other time, when everybody else is dead.

Unfortunately, I don't trust "outside" inspection anymore than I do the PNAC. With enough money and/or polaroids outsiders could be convinced to spout the line. I don't think this "cabal" is limited to the US.

There were stories of an attempt at planting WMD early in the war but it failed when the "planters" were hit by a US strike or something. It would likely now have to be a small hidden bio lab found, with vials labeled "For Americans." ;)

Strategically, we won't/can't leave Iraq, unless the fall of American Empire was the goal all along, which could be. Too bad my old gas rationing coupons from Nicaragua won't redeem here.
