For the Record
The Don't-Bother-to-Knock Rule.
"For those who worry that Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito will take the court in a radically conservative direction, it is sobering how easily the majority tossed aside a principle that traces back to 13th-century Britain, and a legal doctrine that dates to 1914, to let the government invade people's homes."
-- "No-knock" warrants have been used for a long time in the 'hood, especially under Bubba Clinton's War on Drugs policies. No-knock raids are so common in NYC that the police created a special unit to replace the doors of residents terrorized by the drug squads.
From the inner city to the redneck Heartland trailers - authorities have been doing no-knock raids for years, often at the wrong address. Two decades ago Federal, State, and local "task forces" combined funds and informants to no-knock down doors.
Knocking down doors without knocking is so common - I thought it was legal 20 years ago.
Roberts and Alito are doing as they're told by, you know, the ruling elite. "Radically conservative direction" my ass. The high court decision sanctions what the authorities have been doing all along to minorities and poor whites.
As usual, it's "sobering" only in relation to its potential effect on the white upper-crust suburbs.
Hee-hee-hee. It's gettin' mighty crowded in the back of the bus.

Great line. And it might just prove to be a good thing.
abi,
I think it a good thing, and we need much more of it, and quickly.

I've never heard the song. Will have to ask my granddaughter if she knows the band.
Lordy no I'm not a Southerner (tho my children laugh at my "accent" now). Left the south at 16 and only came back last decade. Nooooooo no. Spent more years in Colorado than anywhere.
;)
P.S.
Oh yes, have heard of Dr. Dre. But prefer Sade, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, BB, etc.
My bunch listens to everything. Granddaughter likes Rock. One son listens to '50s. Another rap. Another jazz. One daughter new age. DILs hispanic music. It's a madhouse. I "tune" a lot of the noise out.
And god save me, but I think my 7 y/o grandson sneaks around and plays country music!
